Ice Cream Party In An Envelope

My friend from college just had her birthday, but since she lives in Northern California I'm unable to celebrate it with her. When I think of her, one word comes to mind... ice cream. This girl was all about ice cream I tell ya! Late night runs for ice cream, dollar scoop Tuesdays at Baskin Robbins... every Tuesday, the list goes on. I think she's rubbed off on me because I ended my year at college loving ice cream waaay more than I did when it first started. My favorites? Ben & Jerry's Half Baked and Haagen Daaz's Green Tea.

So for her birthday I decided to send her own ice cream party in the mail (inspired by this one). I put some gummy bears, gummy worms, coconut flakes, sprinkles, jelly beans (for toppings), a gift card to an ice cream store, spoons, napkins and voila! It's like were celebrating her birthday together :)

I also made her a card/card book:

{don't worry I don't really think she's a "Dum Ghurl," it's our inside joke.}

{the note that pulls out gives her a head's up as to what to expect}

Funny story, for almost all my life until high school I would go to Baskin Robbins and order the same exact flavor, every single time - vanilla ice cream. I would get a lot of slack from my mom and my friends saying "You go to Baskin Robbins for... vanilla ice cream?!!" Something about it, I just loved it. However, I always thought it was normal for me to get vanilla and I never understood why people were so shocked! Haha. Nowadays though, I do try to get something different and my favorite is now cookie dough! (I know you're probably thinking... what a BIG change from vanilla)

Do you guys have any ice cream flavors you recommend?

  3. such a simple and fantastic idea for a gift and you know she'd definately enjoy it.

    I love trying all the limited editions of Mcdonalds Mcflurries and my favourite has to be the Yorkie one. If you get it from the ice-cream van they only sell plain ice-cream (with no taste) and plenty of sprinkles (nuts are my favourite on top) etc... which I love.

  8. What a clever idea! You're not alone with your love of vanilla ice cream. My husband always gets vanilla too, despite my attempt to change his mind. He always responds that's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors!

    You should try the oatmeal cookie dough from Ben & Jerry's. I'm not sure what it's called exactly (let me google it, haha!) Okay, Oatmeal Cookie Chunk! SO good!

    My favorite Baskin Robbin's flavor is Love Potion 31 (I think that is what it is called). It has raspberry swirl and chocolate hearts in it. Scrumptious!!

  14. easy question. one word, pistachio. ice cream, yogurt, gellato. all of 'em. except never eat pistachio ice cream if it has almonds in it, thats just backwards and wrong.
