An Anonymous Note

{^ isn't that so great?}

At my old school, during one of the chapels they had us write a small encouragement for someone random on a small piece of paper. Then, when we were done, we would drop it off at the door and you would pick up someone else's encouragement note.

The note I got, I kept in my wallet since that day, and I never really took the time to look at it. Today in the backseat of the car, something drew me to read it. I completely don't remember what I read when I first got it, so it's not like I picked it up so I could feel encouraged.

However, what I read could not be spoken to me at a much better time...

"I encourage you to keep living according to the Word. It is busy toward the end of the semester but don't forget to talk with Father, even if it is to just say "I'm stressed!" He want to know. He loves you. Don't forget. You can do it by HIS strength!"

(in the back)
"I also encourage you to fellowship with others. God has brought you great friends in your life as a glimpse of His love for you. They are there for you. He is providing love for you in ever part of your life! It is amazing. Take the time to sit in it and breathe it all in."

To my random friend who wrote this:
Everything written seems to be so applicable in my life, especially right now: next week I have loads of tests and midterms, I'm feeling stressed, and I really do feel so grateful for my friends and how they encourage and help me become a better person... This was also a good reminder to just "sit in it and breathe it all in."Although I'll never know who you are, thank you for this.

  6. What a great idea! I love how perfectly timed that note was! I've been writing tiny letters to people on my commute (like, saying I like their sweater and to have a good day). It makes my day so much more interesting picking out a good-thoughts-target.
