For the past 8 weeks, I would visit a local elementary school once a week with my two classmates to teach yoga. Yesterday was our last week there so the kids drew us these pictures to thank us.
Fyi: The rainbow colored squares in the pictures below is the rainbow mat we use every week.
This first picture is drawn by my favorite kid, David. Okay, favoritism is a natural inclination k. The reason why I love this kid so much is because he's the only boy who always pays attention while all the other boys are being rowdy. I brought this up to the teacher asking if he was always this good and she said that he is one of the better students and that all his classmates love him. She mentioned that everyone is always fighting to sit next to David. So during that class period, I kept an eye out for this. I saw 5 kids following behind David to see where he was going to sit. Haha!

This is drawn by Blanca. One of the cutest little girl with bangs and her two front teeth missing. I think this picture portrays us as lazy bums. Or you can call it "Teachers who just sit and watch their students do sun salutations." Hahaha... but really. It's really not like this. I promise.

And for the final, and most hilarious picture. I present to you "The Blue Man is Doing Step 3 in a Sun Salutation." LOL. We all got a good laugh out of this one.

I'm going to miss the kiddos so much! I've always wanted to be a teacher but one thing I probably would dislike the most is getting attached to kids, and then getting a new class of kids, getting used to them, and then getting a new set of kids. A repeat cycle! Any teachers out there? Does this happen to you?
I'm going to check out early but I hope you guys have a lovely weekend. I should be stopping by at Danni & Lillian's Yard Sale. I'm excited to see Lillian again, since the last time I saw her was back at the Renegade Craft Fair!

Oh, how sweet! A few of these need to be framed and hung on the wall at home for sure...it is so touching to see how much fun these kids had taking your yoga class! (love the rainbow mats!)
ReplyDeleteI think I would have the same problem if I were a teacher. I would grow too attached to my set of kids.
ReplyDeleteI also like meeting bloggers from LA, I rarely come across them! :) No I don't go to school in LA, do you? I'm always in the area though... it's like my second home.
beautiful colourful drawings.. so cute.
